I have set up this blog to share things I have learned that make Family history easier

The descendency feature.is a really cool way to find cousins that need temple ordinances!
To access this feature after signing to family tree, select fan chart  and select the chart of someone early in your ancestry..  Then there will be a bubble in the upper right of the screen with the words "View Fan Chart" and a mark on the right side.  Clicking on the mark will bring up a menu.  From the menu select descendancy.
You will then be looking at the first generation of this person.  To make the screen more manageable, click on the view button on the right and uncheck portraits.  You will now see some different colored boxes.  Click on the boxes to see what they are.  The first row of boxes will have to do with temple ordinances.
There will be a bubble by some of the children which if clicked will expand the chart to later generations.
It would be fun to hear of your experiences with this.
